Mechatronics Technology

Associate Degree Program - 65 Credits

The proliferation of smart machines has put the field of Mechatronics into high gear. Mechatronics combines engineering, machining, robotics, information technology and electronics. With the goal of more efficient machine solutions, Mechatronics Technicians are in demand in a range of industries, including manufacturing and production, medical, agriculture and energy.  

At Southeast Tech, you will have one year of electronics as a core in addition to specialty courses in areas such as:  

  • Pneumatics
  • Hydraulics
  • Programmable logic controllers
  • System controls
  • Motor controls

An associate’s degree in Mechatronics from Southeast Tech gives you the skills to formulate automated solutions for manufacturing challenges large and small – from vehicle manufacturing to microelectronics products.

During your training in Mechatronics in Sioux Falls, you will read schematics for signal flow and troubleshooting; build and analyze electronic circuits and mechanical systems; learn electronic theory for DC/AC, digital and analog circuits; and show proper operation of test equipment.
